About Us
Mission
The Blackhawk Retriever Club is dedicated to the advancement of all purebred retriever breeds as working dogs through conducting regular training events for club members, educating owners and handlers, and hosting AKC field events. However, we appreciate any well-trained hunting dog and the value the dog serves in the field to retrieve game.
Current Club Purpose and Direction
To educate and train members how to train retrievers, that they may become a team in the field. To conduct field trials, hunt tests, and sanctioned events under the rules of American Kennel Club. To Devote all profits to accruing to the club to the above purposes or make specific bequests to such charitable or civic organizations as shall be approved by the membership

Membership forms are available for print on membership page of this site. You can fill out and send to included address. You may also reach out to current board members for help with membership forms. But all forms and dues should be mailed or delivered to club secretary for proper filing.
All event entries are handled online by EntryExpress.net. The site is free and with some time very easy to use and navigate. Most club members have experience and will be a great resource if needed.
All of the Blackhawk training grounds are private property, with special permission granted to club members for use. The grounds are available for use most weekdays after 5pm, and weekends provided there are no special events or trials happening. Please respect the property as if it were your own.
No, the club is not going to train your dog. The club is a resource of people, property, and education to help guide you and your dog through the process.
Yes, BRC is a AKC member club, following the guidelines and rules set in place by the AKC.
